Blueberryer and Blueberryess have found themselves in a tangled situation again.
Against all advice, Blueberryess jumped into the ocean because she wanted to know what she could find deep down in the black water. After that Blueberryer as a true gentlemen had no other option than to take a deep breath and jump into the ocean too. He did take the jump on his bike though. Of course he had a choice. To forget his Blueberryess and go for a wonderful bike ride in the “magnifique” Blueberry valley, sipping slowly the elegant Blueberry Cocktail at the top of the Blueberry Hill and enjoying the marvellous view over Blueberry Land. But as a victim of his own conception of his greatness, he had no other option than to jump into the black waters of that ocean. Or maybe it was true love?

From my new Series Blueberryland – The adventure in the Blueberry Hole
Blueberryland is full of unpredictable and unexpected phenomena.
Just when Blueberryer and Blueberryess wanted to go for a nice, evening walk suddenly out of the blue a golden and blue hole opened its mouth and both of them were taken into a new adventure. Maybe they could even wake up in a new Universe? Can they survive inside the blueberry hole? Is there a way to escape from it? Is the blueberry hole less dangerous than an ordinary black hole? Can Blueberryer rescue his Blueberryess without his Golden bike?

That title is in some ways metaphorical, but nevertheless it is also literally correct. My Panta Rhei painting has been sold to someone who really loves it. To someone who is also a very nice person. It is a nice feeling to know and to be sure that my paintings are in good hands. Especially something like Panta Rhei, which has been with me for such a long time. I have had a few potential buyers through that time but we never could agree about the price, until now that is.
A few word about this painting:

Yesterday completely out of the blue a German couple visited my studio. They had just followed the yellow signs, not knowing what would be at the end of them. They not only loved my paintings but even bought one. We talked about modern art, especially modern conceptual German art. She lives in Essen and he is from Wuppertal. I absolutely enjoyed my time spent with those two very interesting individuals who really were into modern conceptual art.
She loves my weird stuff, like My Brain

Today is the second day of Devon Open Studios 2011. No visitors today. Yesterday a couple with a child visited me. They just saw a sign on the wall and because the child needed to take a leak they stopped and visited me. They were nice people but not really interested in my paintings or in what I am doing or why I am doing it.

There is a golden night in Blueberry-Land. The Blueberryer is cycling on his golden bike. He is in a hurry; he is worried about his Blueberryess. She is hidden in a golden cage. She was hidden there by a vicious Spider-witch. The witch wants to suck the delicious blueberry sweet-scented juicy life from the Blueberryess. Can the Blueberry Biker arrive in time to rescue his lover? Can they live happily ever after together in Blueberry-Land?

Merry Christmas to everyone!
I love this time of the year. I know lots of people think it is nonsense and commercial and only about money, food, drink, and presents and this kind of stuff.

Here is my new painting Metropolis III from the series Metropolis, dedicated to a rather fatalistic and sardonic proverb 'Nothing is certain but death and taxes'. The image of Death isn't so difficult but the image of taxes is.
In truth you can imagine, you can speculate about the symbolisation of taxes in my painting but it is indeed difficult to find it. It is open to individual interpretation.

I love blueberries for their taste and for their beauty. I love both of them, the wild bilberries (low bushes in the forest) and the cultivated blueberries from the high bushes from the garden. In the Lyalls Cottage garden 150 North American cultivated blueberry bushes are growing. We have a blueberry orgy almost every day between August and September. They are big, sweet-sour, dark, tasty and really beautiful to see.

Since settling in Dunchideock, I have started to use in my paintings/collages/installations more and more attributes from the garden.
My studio is situated in the epicentre of the garden, in a certain way that is. It is in the middle of the gardens ‘natural resources” and flora, as well being centred in the macro and micro dimensional sense. Among the trees, bushes, and flowers there are also a huge variety of insects, birds and other animals, both alive and dead. The nearness and the intimacy with the nature has an undeniable affect on my imagination and it so happened that my new born paintings are full of leaves, styles, petals, filaments, fruits, and small stems from trees, bushes, flowers and weeds; but also some parts of dead and alive insects and birds. In some of my old abstract paintings I have already used couscous, rice, diverse seeds, grasses and bay leaves. But it was only incidental and my imagination was limited by the ingredients I had in my kitchen and on my balcony. In Dunchideock, in the garden of Lyalls Cottage I have unbounded forms, colours, pigments, consistencies, structures and odours; the last aspect is only significant for me not for the paintings I am afraid.
